The owners of the Rancho Cucamonga and Tustin branches of national restoration chain, ServiceMaster, have been charged with committing over $10 million in forgeries and $100,000 in insurance fraud according to the California Department of Insurance. On April 14th, three of the company’s owners and employees, Bob Roberts Jr., Steven Manchester and Heather Revis were booked into San Bernadino County Jail after a year’s long probe of their business practices. Each met their bail of $1 million and are challenging the 45 felony counts against them.
On May 14th, all three will be due in court to faces charges stemming from an alleged scheme in which they forged and cashed insurance company checks. ServiceMaster is a chain providing restoration, cleanup and construction services that is often utilized by individuals whose home’s or properties have been damaged. Many customers of the company allege that they were charged for work that was only partially completed with some saying that they ended up paying for projects that were never started at all. A national spokeswoman for the ServiceMaster company declined to comment on the charges facing the franchise owners but admitted they are investigating the allegations and mentioned that ServiceMaster reserves the right to suspend franchise agreements if necessary.
